The red wine Contrada Pianodario Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2019 from the winery Tasca d’Almerita has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Very bright cherry red with a flint core and brightening rim. Shows fine young cherry fruit on the nose coupled with light vegetal nuances, a hint of cold smoke and blood orange round out the bouquet. Presents a very balanced palate with polished tannins, clear and bright red berry fruit, underpinned by fine saline notes, long and with finesse.
