The red wine Tenuta Tascante - Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2019 from the winery Tasca d’Almerita has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Bright ruby red with a touch of lightening rim suggesting maturity. A fragrant nose, with initially lightly toasted notes then lots of dried petal, orange cordial, rosehip and cold smoke. The compact palate, spiced and savoury with still young tannins, shows plenty of clear fruit and well-integrated acidity, but then unfortunately gets a bit loosely knit on the back end.
