Tasting Notes
Day one: noticeable new wood on the nose. Balsamic tones, herbs, Amarena cherry. Also some prune. The palate has a soft base and is energised by powerful, well-ripened, grainy tannins. The mild acidity is seamlessly integrated, the fruit on the finish is still rather closed. Structurally, the wine has great length. Day two: Blackberry and wild herbs, a hint of mocha. The aroma is more intense than yesterday. The tannins appear somewhat riper and mellower, leaving a little more room for fruit and juiciness than yesterday. Day three: Still fresh, dark berries and red fruit jelly, the wood is almost imperceptible, tobacco notes on the palate, mealy tannins that have mellowed further but are still full, mineral undertones. Long.
