The white wine »Tempus« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Bergdolt Klostergut St. Lamprecht has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
The first thought: it smells almost like Champagne. Almond paste, brioche, fresh yeast and toffee. Bite and minerality. The phenolics are fine, but with passable persistence. Its depth and length suggest that it still has certain ageing potential.
More about the tastingA subtle use of wood, soft notes of nougat, vanilla, also white flowers and sesame. Full-bodied on the palate and concentrated, more slender than a Pfalz, but with some persistence and good length.
