The red wine Bechtolsheimer Petersberg Regent trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Ernst Bretz has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Regent from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
The Regent wraps itself in an opaque dark red in the glass. The nose is dominated by the notes of ageing. There is a lot of woody sweetness, but there are also notes of chimney smoke, blackberry and eucalyptus. The wine is juicy on the palate, characterised by a dense and flattering fruit core. Again woody notes, black cherry, extract sweetness, the slightly green tannins appear a little discreet.
