Bobby Hiddleston Opens a New Cocktail Bar in Stockholm
The celebrity bartender behind several award-winning establishments in London brings Manhattan's glamour and Nordic ease to the Stockholm Sheraton.
When Bobby Hiddleston creates a cocktail, the world takes notice – and even more so when he opens a new bar. So expect all eyes on Stockholm on November 13, when Hiddleston's latest project, Sally’s, opens its doors inside Stockholm's Sheraton Hotel.
Celebrated for his work at Milk & Honey in London and The Dead Rabbit in New York, Hiddleston relocated to Stockholm in 2024 with his wife and son. For him, this latest launch constitutes both a professional milestone and a personal homecoming. “It feels like the right time and the right city,” he explains. “Stockholm is creative, curious, and ready for something new. I want to create a place where people feel comfortable — where you feel at home but still experience something special every time.”
A Tribute to Joy and Freedom — The Story Behind Sally’s
The name he chose carries a story that perfectly embodies the bar’s spirit: When the original Sally’s opened at the New York Sheraton in 1969, it was named after Sally Lippman, a beloved Studio 54 regular who danced well into her seventies and became a symbol of freedom, joy, and unbridled fun.
The new Sally’s in Stockholm is a tribute to that same spirit — glamorous, life-affirming, and just a little mischievous. “Opening Sally’s in the heart of such an iconic place is a great honor,” says Hiddleston. “During the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, the Sheraton in Stockholm was the coolest place in town. Axl Rose trashed hotel rooms here, while Stevie Wonder played the piano in the lobby. We want to bring that energy back — but in a modern, welcoming context, with timeless cocktails to match.”
Standing alongside Hiddleston is Niklas Forslin, one of Stockholm’s most esteemed bartenders. After more than a decade at Tjoget — ranked among The World’s 50 Best Bars — and a recent stint as Head Mixologist at Red Sugar in Hong Kong, Forslin brings a rare blend of international flair and Nordic precision to the new venue. “Paired with Sheraton’s warm, professional service, I think we’re creating something genuinely special here,” Forslin says expectantly.
The cocktail list reflects Hiddleston’s philosophy, which is rooted in craftsmanship, balance, and joy in every detail. Expect refined classics such as the Gimlet, Freezer Martini, Toronto, and White Russian — the latter crowned with a toasted marshmallow — alongside inventive new concoctions like the Disco Sally’s – a vibrant mix of tequila, apricot, and Cocchi Americano.
Designed by ADC Atelier the interior mirrors the bar’s duality: Scandinavian calm meets New York confidence. Brass, dark wood, and mirrored surfaces create a warm, flattering glow, making Sally’s not just a part of the Sheraton lobby, but a destination in its own right.
Sally’s is part of a major transformation at the Stockholm Sheraton Hotel — it is currently undergoing major renovations that will cost over SEK 400 million and will be completed in 2026. The bar offers is simply the first taste of this new chapter, where history and modern design meet in a cosmopolitan, yet distinctly Scandinavian atmosphere.
“A great bar is never just about drinks,” says Hiddleston. “It’s about people, energy and that feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be. Maybe that’s what Sally’s offers — a touch of everyday luxury, making nights shimmer like Manhattan in 1979, but with the calm confidence of Stockholm.”
