Limited Edition: Hendrick's Presents Neptunia Gin

Master Distiller Lesley Gracie was inspired by the rough coast of Scotland for her third creation from the "Cabinet of Curiosities". PLUS: Neptunia drinks to remix.

Hendrick's Master Distiller Lesley Gracie has brought "The Magic of the Sea" into a bottle – in the form of the new limited edition of the cult gin with the resonant name Neptunia. Hendrick's Neptunia sees itself as an unconventional ode to the sea and is the third limited Hendrick's gin after Midsummer Solstice and Lunar. As with the previous variants, the exact composition of the botanicals is a secret. Gracie only reveals that, among other ingredients, she also uses a mixture of refreshing plants from the Scottish coast.

Melody of the Waves

Lesley Gracie tells us about the story behind the creation and her inspiration: "I think there is something really healing about listening to the sound of the waves as they roll onto the beach. It's a wonderful feeling to enjoy the unobstructed view of the horizon, to feel the wind in your hair, the salty sea breeze on your face – it's liberating, invigorating and calming all at the same time. I go down to Girvan beach every weekend with my dog and take in the sound of the waves and that special smell you get on any beach. Most of my creations are based on memories – I play with botanicals, combining them to reawaken certain sensations. Hendrick's Neptunia embodies for me this liberating feeling that the sea gives, bottled as a gin. It conveys that unmistakable fresh character of coastal herbs, the depth of flavour of botanicals from the sea and has an unmistakably pure, clear citrus finish that uplifts and exhilarates in a way that's as rounded as it is refreshing – it's typical Hendrick's."

A Gin with Sustainability

Hendrick's is also making the invisible visible with Neptunia, working with its partner Project Seagrass to raise awareness of seagrass beds and the essential role they play as food and habitat for thousands of marine species and those who rely on them.
