Event Tip

The Street Food Festival in Jönköping on 29-30 May kicks off a series of four tasty summer events, celebrating ten years of culinary adventure on wheels.

The Streetfoodfestivalen is back on the road: From late May through August, it brings food trucks, craft beer and sweets to four Swedish cities. This year marks its 10 th anniversary, which is celebrated with some 40 vendors in each city, lots of food from international cuisines and a new stop in Halmstad.

The opening day in Jönköping also features a French fries championship. Since Daniel Fritzdorf founded the Street Food Festival, it has developed from a Stockholm-only event into Sweden’s largest festival of its kind, happening in multiple cities. Across several locations, it attracts over 200 000 visitors each year.

In addition, the festival hosts a national street food championship, naming winners in categories such as best street food, best sweet food and most sustainable vendor. The grand finale takes place in Gothenburg, where the
Streetfoodfestivalen coincides with Göteborgskalaset, the annual celebration of Sweden’s maritime Second City.

These are the dates and locations for this summer’s street food festival, where admission is free:

 Jönköping (Rådhusparken): 29-30 May 2026
