Opening

Celebrity chef Yotam Ottolenghi will open his first restaurant in the Scottish capital in fall 2026.

Yotam Ottolenghi is continuing his expansion: a new restaurant is set to open in Scotland this fall. It will be the first Ottolenghi restaurant in Scotland on George Street. The new restaurant will be led by Scottish chef Neil John Campbell, who has worked with Ottolenghi for the past ten years.

The cookbook author Ottolenghi now operates ten restaurants, most of them in and around London, with additional locations in Geneva and Amsterdam. Further details on the exact location, opening date and design are yet to be announced.

A vibrant gastronomy scene

"We' ve been dreaming of opening in Edinburgh for years and now the time has finally come. The city has an outstanding food culture and access to exceptional regional produce – fish, seafood and delicious vegetables from across Scotland. Neil, our future head chef, is from here, which makes the whole thing very special right from the start," Ottolenghi said in several media reports.

Neil John Campbell, the future head chef, was born in Scotland and grew up on the Isle of Skye. He previously worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in Scotland and Australia before joining the Ottolenghi team in London.
