The red wine Masseto Merlot Toscana IGT, vintage 1995 from the winery Masseto has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Strong ruby, purple reflections, broad and bright rim. The beginning is restrained, subtle red berry notes, a touch of rose hip, discreet touch of tobacco, nuances of candied orange zest. Good complexity, pronounced fruit core, subtle notes of sea buckthorn and plums, sweet, ripe tannins, highly elegant texture, fine acidity, a wonderfully old-fashioned wine with Burgundian-like elegance, shows great length and minerality on the finish. It has reached the perfect age.
