The red wine Masseto IGT, vintage 2001 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2006 with Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Opaque, almost black robe, smoky nuances on the nose (perhaps very slight volatile acidity), dark berry confit, mint, some coconut. Full-bodied and relatively sweet on the palate, delicate bitter chocolate touch, somewhat encapsulated at the moment, the powerful tannins seem somewhat bulky, somewhat monstrous, still a touch too sweet, but this wine will certainly have a long life.
