Tasting Notes
Dark ruby, firm colour core, first ochre reflections, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Fine balsamic notes on the nose, delicate orange confit, some cherry liqueur, a hint of cocoa, fine dried fruit notes, roasted plum, tobacco notes, a few drops of Maggi with air. Ripe fruit on the palate, very powerful, delicate Amarone like nuances from the dried berries, some cooked fruit, chocolaty nuances, delicately spicy finish, delicate dried herbs on the finish, a Masseto that is somewhat out of the ordinary, but reflects the vintage very well. There is no need to rush here, it will gain in harmony with bottle ageing. Drink/store +20.
More about the tastingRich, impenetrable ruby violet; very intense, dense nose of ripe, dark berries, cassis, elderberries, some celery, spicy, with fine chocolate behind it; lots of rich fruit on the palate, full-bodied, dense tannins, builds up layer by layer, very long. The finish unfortunately lacks the final pressure, the high alcohol is noticeable.
