The red wine Masseto IGT, vintage 2007 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2010 with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Brilliant dark ruby. Very appealing, multi-layered nose, intense and elegant at the same time, notes of blackberry, redcurrant and fine dark chocolate. Plays out magnificently on the palate, initially showing lots of rich, ripe berry fruit, then opens up with lots of fine-grained, dense tannins, firm, sweet core, very long finish, salty.
