The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, vintage 2012 from the winery Poggio di Sotto has been rated in 2018 by Othmar Kiem with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear garnet red with light rim. Inviting, multilayered nose, smells of pickled fruit, lots of cherry, pomegranate and plum, some leather in the background. Surprisingly fresh on the palate, showing lots of vivid fruit, of cherry and cranberry, finely meshed tannin, salty, unfolds with great elegance.
