The red wine Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, vintage 2021 from the winery Poggio di Sotto has been rated in 2026 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese
Powerful, bright ruby with garnet shimmer. Very appealing and intense nose, multi-layered, showing notes of ripe dark cherries and plums as well as licorice, graphite and some rosemary. Inspiring on the attack and on the palate, shows present fruit, builds up in many layers, very good tension, unfortunately somewhat brittle on the finish.
