The red wine Sarmassa di Barolo DOCG, vintage 2010 from the winery Roberto Voerzio has been rated in 2014 with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Barolo in Italy.
Clear, warm ruby. Opens on the nose with a wonderful blend of dried rose petal, preserved cherry and ripe plum, with some leather in the background. Impressive all round on the palate, showing ripe, vivid fruit in all the nuances of Barolo, then opens up with lots of fine-meshed tannins, interwoven with fine texture, building up more and more, with a very long finish with rich drive.
