The red wine Alauda Toscana Rosso IGT, vintage 2018 from the winery Ruffino has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Colorino, Colorino from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dense, impenetrable ruby red. Ripe aromas of prune, pickled cherry, sweetened fruit tea, clove and cigar box; shows dark, savoury and smoky. On the palate, powerful, with lots of juice and dark fruit, clear use of oak, vanilla and cocoa butter, grippy tannins, broad body, clearly malty notes in the back.
