Tasting Notes
Densely coloured core, slightly orangey rim. Initially closed, then increasingly emerging balsamic aromas, herbs, still a trace reductiveness, meat soup, after prolonged air contact cherry, tree resin, after thirty minutes finally also a trace marsala but only very discreet and hardly negative. On the palate full-bodied, gripping, along with vivaciousness, rich concentration, still very compact and exciting, really pithy, resembles a bit in structure the 1958 with a little more alcohol and a subtle trace of creaminess, but overall it seems still very youthfully fleshy with great definite further ageing potential.
