The red wine Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2014 from the winery Tenuta delle Terre Nere has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio from the region Sicily in Italy.
Clear ruby with light garnet hue. Appealing nose, displaying notes of cherries and raspberries, some anchovy and capers. Sparkles on the palate, reveals lots of juicy fruit, emphatically saline and earthy, very juicy, finely meshed, grippy tannins, long finish.
