The red wine Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2021 from the winery Tenuta delle Terre Nere has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Bright ruby red colour with brightening on the rim. On the nose fine and dynamic, with lots of floral notes, reminiscent of lavender and violets, some mint, ripe rose hips and cherries in the background. On the palate ripe fruit and lots of savouriness, compact and structured, grippy acidity and rich tannins, long, juicy finish.
