The red wine Calderara Sottana Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Tenuta delle Terre Nere has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio from the region Sicily in Italy.
Medium dense ruby with garnet glints. Appealing and complex nose, shows notes of rhubarb, flint and thyme, some dried orange peel. Dense, very well integrated tannin on the palate, builds in many layers, salty, lingers long, sweet texture.
