The white wine Forster Kirchenstück GC, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf has been rated in 2010 with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Brilliant straw yellow colour. Very technical and rather simple fruit in the first few minutes, but with a hint of savouriness. After 20 minutes, the bouquet opens up very slowly and promises enormous depth. Spicy notes of rosemary, earth and ivy, a light hint of lime, the finest Riesling fruit, fine raisins. Tightening and biting on the palate, with zesty limey freshness and demanding acidity, dense, powerful and very complex. A sleeping giant that we will only first awake in four to five, but certainly in eight and ten years.
