Tasting Notes
This has a berry-like Burgundy note on the nose, as well as nuanced balsamic aromas, and a subtle woody savouriness, it is a beautifully balanced aroma. On the palate there is drive and power, and it is quite strikingly oaky, with a very firm acid backbone. It is tightly fruit dominated and full-bodied, with a hint of sweetness behind the flinty acidity, and a note of minerality. It needs a substantial meal, such as chicken in morel cream.
