The red wine »Cuvée X« trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Knipser has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Classic Médoc like in colour and aroma. This cuvée presents itself dark and with precise fruit with aromas of cassis, tobacco, coffee and cedar. Concentrated on the palate, with ripe tannins and well-integrated acidity. Lime and herbal savouriness on the long finish. Lots of certain ageing potential.
More about the tastingDark chocolate and herbs on the nose, not very open, some caramel. On the palate, the wine starts smoothly, but then quickly develops a very dense, ripe, dominant tannin, the acidity is very well balanced with the full body, the wine seems balanced despite all its power and has a great future.
