The white wine Laurentiuslay GG, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Nik Weis – St. Urbans-Hof has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Moselle in Germany.
Tasting Notes
Day one: Aroma of ripe citrus fruits, grapefruit, pineapple, sweet mandarin, savouriness, delicate nutmeg, candied ginger, earthy and stony notes, subtle. Lively acidity on the palate, lots of tension, citrus fruits dominate, mineral base, savoury, excellent length, lots of tension, characterised by the terroir, elegant. Day two: Spicy, rich aroma, tangerine zest, delicate peach blossom, some papaya. Spicy and gripping on the palate, beautiful richness, vivid minerality, excellent length, tension not as enormous as on day one. Day three: Very open, savoury aroma with papaya, tangerine zest, mint, kefir leaf, opulent and fresh. Very supple on the palate, delicate acidity, lots of texture, phenolics, spicy, moves away from Riesling, mineral, long, accessible. Excitement like day two.
