The white wine Iphofen Kalb Sylvaner trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Olinger has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Sylvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
Floral aromas with a herbal savouriness on the nose, mingling with yellow fruit, apricots, yellow apple and honeydew melon. Some stony notes, hay, and subtle smoke also emerge. It's dense on the palate, with a lively ripe acidity balancing a creamy, yellow-fruited core and lots of savouriness. The aftertaste brings a salty edge, supported by fine phenolic grip. Very long, and animating to drink.
