Turkish restaurant Firin opens at Manchester Airport

New eatery at Terminal 2 offers Mediterranean dishes based around the Turkish flatbread, pide.

For travellers at Manchester Airport, there are now more choices in terms of cuisine: Turkish restaurant Firin has opened at Terminal 2, located inside the new Holiday Inn Manchester Airport, offering classic tastes of the Mediterranean.

The Turkish word firin translates as oven, and the star of the new restaurant is pide, a flatbread which is worked by hand to give a boat-like shape. Firin offers several toppings for its pide, from pide develi of diced beef, tomato & pepper to the creamy birsen alcela with mushroom & goat’s cheese. Ottoman dishes and sharing plates such as lentil soup, choban salad, and grilled Ottoman classics such as chicken shish and lamb tandir are strongly represented on the menu.

There is also a selection of Turkish wine, such as the Anycrya Red. Not to miss are Firin´s sweet dishes, from pistachio baklava to kunufe, a sweet cheese pastry.

“We are excited to delve into the world of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine with a twist at Firin at the vibrant Holiday Inn Manchester Airport,” said Concept Creator Daniele Pampagnin.

Plans to launch a rooftop bar on the hotel’s top floor are underway, set to open later this year.
