The red wine Muga Selección Especial Reserva Rioja DOCa, vintage 2009 from the winery Bodegas Muga has been rated in 2014 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Grenache, Carignan, Graciano from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Starts very closed, opens up in the glass, somewhat tarry, elderberry, blackberry, herbal notes. Dense tannin structure, good drive build-up, dry and juicy at the same time. Ripe acid support, mineral, full-bodied, accompanied by a structurally long-lasting, aromatically still closed finish. Rich in extract and certain ageing potential.
