The red wine Muga Selección Especial Reserva Rioja DOCa, vintage 2010 from the winery Bodegas Muga has been rated in 2016 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Grenache, Carignan, Graciano from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Closed but clearly complex: notes of blueberry, nougat, wax, alongside more floral notes. The palate is built entirely on elegance: lots of juice and mineral hints, with a fine-grained and tense but not astringent tanni structure. Feels finely chiselled yet firm, with great ageing potential.
