The red wine Vigna d’Alceo IGT, vintage 2009 from the winery Castello dei Rampolla has been rated in 2014 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright rich ruby purple colour. Opens on the nose with smoky mineral notes, then lots of plump fruit, of elderberry and blackberry, an inviting bouquet. Polished on the palate, opens with lots of fine rich tannins, builds up over a long time, lots of juicy fruit, rich drive on the finish.
