The red wine Trentasei, vintage 2005 from the winery Gialdi Vini SA has been rated in 2011 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Canton of Ticino in Switzerland.
Dense ruby red. The nose is seductive with notes of prunes, liquorice and chocolate. Spicy aromas on the palate, reminiscent of raisins, cloves, vanilla and tobacco. The tannins are fine and delicately envelop the fruit intensity. A voluminous Merlot that has matured for three years in French oak barrels. The wood is beautifully embedded in the lush fruit. A baroque Ticino, with a fruity finish that also reveals a subtle smoky note.
