The sekt »Grande Cuvée Réserve« extra brut, vintage 2014 from the winery Griesel & Compagnie has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier from the region Hessische Bergstraße in Germany.
On the nose there is almond, some reduction notes, apple peel, roasted notes, light tobacco, straw flowers. Roasted aromas on the palate too, a hint of mocha and sherry, medium complexity and length, very individualistic. Not an aperitif, rather just before a cigar, for lovers of mature champagnes.
