Tasting Notes
The nose is rather subtle, giving just glimpses of smoky plum and charred pumpkin flesh. The palate has a most lovely edge of smoke and nutmeg, even a hint of incense. The palate is still fully-fledged on its medium body, generous with mature fruit that shimmers with ash, spice and a touch of polished mahogany. The texture still shows plushness and smooth but dense tannins, showing that this must have been rather extracted in its youth. Today it is resonant, savoury and still rich with ripe fruit. The finish has echoes of miso and smoke.
