The red wine Messorio Merlot, vintage 2013 from the winery Le Macchiole has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, deep dark ruby with a slight purple tinge. Opens with fine spice notes of cardamom, some bay leaf, then rich blackberries and dark cherry. Splendid in approach and course thanks to lots of ripe berry fruit, especially blackberry and raspberry, before fine-meshed, dense tannin emerges. A very long finish.
