Deep dark ruby garnet with an opaque core and purple reflections. A touch of brightening at the rim suggests some age. Highly attractive dark fruit nuances to the nose, overlaying subtle spice and nougat, a touch of eucalyptus and mint, and hints of liquorice - a multifaceted bouquet. The palate is juicy and balanced, with a finely savoury note. Well integrated tannins lead to a chocolaty finish. Accessible and versatile, it seems comparatively light on its feet - a "Grange Junior". Great price-performance ratio and good ageing potential.
