Dark, inky black, opaque core, purple ruby reflections. On the nose initially rather restrained, fine sweet ripe blackberries, a touch of liquorice, but also dried fruit, exotic spices, and a touch of chocolate. On the palate very complex with powerful, ripe tannins giving structure. Juicy dark fruit, sweet cherries, a very clear and straightforward style and taut. Savoury nuances and a long, persistent finish, very high quality. It is starting to develop but with maturity will gain yet more elegance. A Vin de Garde.
