Tasting Notes
Medium amber, golden reflections. The nose is characterized by a wonderful fruit melt, shows a remarkable spiciness, a hint of iodine, strong botrytis touch. A wine with a high must weight, but also a little less acidity, it has just managed the legally required 5.5% alcohol. The mouthfeel is correspondingly plump, comparable to a natural essence, yet the acidity manages to leave a vinous impression, dark, delicately caramel-syrupy sweetness, but also yellow fruit, lingering for minutes. A wine like this used to be reserved for princes and kings.
