The white wine »Mineral« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2015 from the winery Weingut Friedrich Becker has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Dense and very mineral nose with notes of matchstick, flint, fine smoke, embers, subtle fruit (apricot), you think you can smell limestone. Well balanced on the palate, finely integrated, emphasising the mineral tension. Very long, noble and highly predisposed. Salty finish, deserves its name, vibrates with minerality.
More about the tastingToasted sesame, hazelnut, flax - and a hint of lime. This is confirmed on the palate with a savoury saltiness behind pithy acidity. Has power - but still appears cultivated. Phenolic and mineral extract needle the palate.
