The red wine Admiral, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Pöckl has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate brightening of the rim. Fine oak spice, black forest berry confit, ripe cherries, candied orange zest, some dark nougat. Juicy, pronounced fruit texture, ripe plums, vivid tannins, which tend to dominate still, nougat and minty notes show on the finish, good development with certain ageing potential which seems very necessary.
