The red wine Admiral, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Pöckl has been rated in 2024 by Peter Moser with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Burgenland in Austria.
Deep dark ruby with an opaque core and purple reflections, delicately brighter at the edge. Juicy bouquet of black cherry and blackberry confit, with fine roasted aromas and subtle nougat touches. Good complexity on the palate with well-integrated, velvety tannins and cranberry sweetness in the finish. Multi-faceted, with mixed berries in the aftertaste. A multi-layered food companion.
