The red wine »Die Legende«, vintage 2023 from the winery Weingut Wageck Pfaffmann has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 95+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
A very distinctive aroma: Pruneaux d'Agen, black pepper, elderberry pulp. Highly ripe grapes, balancing on the edge of overripeness. Despite its extreme density, the palate is fine, the tannin is very fine, the palate fruit sweet and fresh, an elegant acid nerve underpins everything. Unusual, but extremely precise and really big. Neither the residual sugar (14 g) nor the alcohol (16.5 %) are noticeable in the slightest.
