Rocker Rod unveils new whisky distilled on the banks of Loch Lomond

Rod Stewart has announced his Wolfie’s Whisky will go on sale in the UK and Europe later this month.

Known the world over for his smash hits including Da Ya Think I’m Sexy and Sailing, Rod Stewart is now branching out into the drinks business, unveiling his first venture, Wolfie’s Whisky.

Described as having “flavours of warming cinnamon, fresh vanilla and baked apple”, the blend is distilled and bottled at Loch Lomond distillery in Alexandria, at the southern end of the Scottish loch, under the guidance of renowned master blender Michael Henry.

Posting on Instagram, Rod wrote: “After almost two years of development, and dozens of whisky tastings, I’m delighted to finally unveil my latest venture, Wolfie’s Whisky! Going on sale this June. Make sure you sign up at wolfiesiscoming.com to get your hands on a bottle first…Slàinte!”

Each bottle of Wolfie’s Whisky will have lyrics from Rod’s 1991 hit, Rhythm of My Heart, imprinted on its base – the melody is an adaptation of the song, The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond. The whisky will retail at £35 per bottle from June 19 at stores across the UK and Northern Ireland, and also in the Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Plans are in place to roll out sales in America later this year at the same time as Rod, still going strong at 78, begins a US tour.
