Saint-Tropez: These restaurants are "in" this year

Away from classics like "La Vague d'Or", "Le Café", "Salama" etc, there are some new places to check out this season.

There are few places that embody the charm of France with its special "Je ne sais quoi" as well as St. Tropez, and this has been so since the 1950s.

In and around St.Tropez, gourmets and gourmands are again spoiled for choice this year. In addition to the well-known restaurants such as "La Vague d'Or", "Le Café", "Gigi" or "Salama", there are new openings and restaurants that offer something special, away from the high-class mainstream.

Fine dining with a retro touch

This year, brand new and already extremely popular is the "Cherry"; an italo-newyork inspired fine dining establishment at the end of the harbour, with a dash of old school, hip hop and classic jazz.

Party in green

The new restaurant "Nao" is located at Place des Lices. After its success on the island of Saint-Barthélemy, the owners have decided to establish themselves also in Saint-Tropez. On the plate comes a Japanese-inspired Mediterranean experience. The terrace immerses you in a world of greenery.

From Paris

The Parisian "Manko" now also has an offshoot in Saint-Tropez. The name "Manko" pays homage to the Inca legend "Manco Capac", the son of the sun god and founder of the Inca people. Therefore, it was obvious for "Manko" to choose Saint-Tropez as a sunny destination. The menu: Peruvian-inspired sharing concept.

An exclusive strengthening

Caviar Kaspia" also seems to have taken a liking to the blue coast and has opened its doors on the second floor of the Tour du Portalet at the harbour. The signature dish is perfect for balmy summer nights: baked potato with caviar garnish to fortify you in readiness for a roaring party.

Beach club for all

Located in Mandelieu Bay, the "Playa Chica" wants to be an ode to travel. Open year-round, this beach club features workshops for young and old, Kids Club, yoga classes, Tibetan treatments, and a refined restaurant offering a high-end Mediterranean menu. The bar flows smoothly into a lounge area, and there is a private air-conditioned lounge for extremely hot days.

Seafood and French way of life

Not new, but still a place "to see and be seen": "La fine Equipe Madeleine". The terrace on Place aux Herbes is the ideal place to savour the retro feeling of Saint-Tropez. Offered is a wide selection of fresh fish, including the famous ceviche and carpaccios of sea bream, tuna or salmon, exceptional crab and caviar products to enjoy on site or as a picnic platter for a leisurely lunch by the boat.
