The red wine Clos de la Roche Appellation Contrôlée, vintage 1979 from the winery Domaine Ponsot has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Cote de Nuits in France.
Comparatively transparent in colour. Strong ripe tones and a striking bottle reduction: roasted aromas and peanut shell. In the mouth, the wine has an almost white wine-like elegance, with juicy acidity and rather lightweight tannins. Controversial, it was discussed at the tasting and sometimes harshly criticised. But this is a completely coherent, long-lasting wine that expresses the conditions of its damp and cool vintage with dignity and is downright thirst-quenching. And the minerality is there!
