Tasting Notes
Harvested later than the "normal" 1990, was left in barrel for five years and was never brought into a blend. Still very reductive (!) in the glass, leeky, red berry notes with air contact, creamy on the palate, then somewhat brittle due to alcohol and a somewhat coarse tannin. Alcohol and acidity are only moderately integrated, slight green tannins. Already has a lot of extract and density, but little inner bonding of the components. Is this simply still too young, or is this Pinot Noir Amarone a moderately successful experiment?
