The red wine 2022 »Auftakt Reserve« Monarch trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Abthof – Martin Koch has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Monarch from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
In the aroma and also on the palate, heavy use of wood becomes noticeable. In addition, there are fresh, cherry-fruity, and also slightly peppery aromas. In the mouth, the wine has a good density, fine-grained tannin gives firmness, ripe acidity and a still youthful closed fruit complete the picture.
