The red wine »Auftakt« Monarch Reserve, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Abthof – Martin Koch has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Monarch from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Blackberry confit. Dark chocolate and tar, herbal notes, peppery, menthol. In the mouth, the wine is seamlessly round and self-contained, the high alcohol is not noticeable in isolation, ripe acidity supports, the fine-grained, mealy tannins completely coat the voluminous soft part. An impressive, very extract-rich red wine.
