The white wine »Auftakt fumé« Souvignier Gris trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Abthof – Martin Koch has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Souvignier gris from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
On the nose, aromas are dominated by the spice from the new oak ageing. On the palate, the wine has a substantial structure, firm acidity balancing the powerful body, carbon dioxide freshness and tension lead onto an aromatic, albeit slightly woody finish.
