The white wine »Auftakt« Souvignier Gris, vintage 2023 from the winery Weingut Abthof – Martin Koch has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Souvignier Gris from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
The Souvignier Gris from Hahnheim in Rheinhessen shows two faces on the nose. On the one hand, there is a gooseberry note reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc, and on the other, there is a great sense of ripeness with yellow fruits such as mango and pineapple. The mouthfeel is also juicy and dense. The ripeness of the fruit gives the impression of tasting more residual sweetness than is actually present. Dense and seamless, mango yellow, accessible.
