Tasting Notes
Pale greenish yellow. Fine peach fruit on the nose, pleasant spiciness, initially a little reductive. Powerful on the palate and carried by a racy acidity, a hint of pineapple fruit, delicate vegetal nuances on the finish, lingers on yellow peach in the aftertaste, still needs a long time to show itself perfectly, a great promise for the future.
More about the tastingPale yellow. Full-bodied but not very brilliant bouquet, appears rather ponderous. On the palate, an annoying stream of acidity, with strange notes for the Scharzhofberg such as red bell pepper or gooseberries. Much leaner and less elegant than the previous wines in the sample, with a slightly phenolic, astringent character. The finish is even reminiscent of sauvignon blanc. Not very elegant, but racy, nervy and future-proof. Nevertheless - and especially in this sample - a disappointment.
